We are currently seeking a Duty Manager to join our talented team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Light Years Duty Manager is entrusted with overseeing all venue operations in the absence of the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager. This involves providing your unwavering support to the VM and AVM in executing all FOH procedures, floor and bar management and maintaining a commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of customer service. The DM is also responsible for assisting in the monitoring of KPI reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Venue Presentation: Execute venue openings and closings in accordance with the Venue Managers standard. Includes: lighting, music, cleanliness, table presentation and staff uniform standards.
  • Customer Service: Take charge of handling all customer complaints in the absence of the VM and the AVM  and focusing on enhancing the guests in-store experience. Executing checks on staff’s table maintenance to ensure Light Years service standards are being upheld.
  • Wine Service: Continued education of staff on wine service and basic wine knowledge.
  • Food Safety: Ensure all staff members are trained in compliance with the Light Years food safety program, maintaining high hygiene standards within the restaurant.
  • Training: Assisting the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager in conducting training for junior and casual staff members in FOH responsibilities. Ensure regular in house training sessions and conduct personalised training.
  • Management Meetings: Participate in weekly meetings with the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager to discuss team feedback and development.
  • Rostering: Advise the Venue Manager about any changes to the roster as well as rostering needs for any specific days such as public holidays or events.
  • Reservation System: Develop a sound knowledge of the reservations system and bookings.
  • Cash up: Complete evening reconciliation in the venue and submit the Daily EOSR to all Owners, Ops Managers, Venue Managers and Accounting team.
  • End Of Shift Report (EOSR): Ensure the distribution of the EOSR to all key parties, detailing the day, sales, labour, incidents and maintenance requirements.
  • Venue Maintenance: Keeping records of any broken items or items in need of repair within the venue, promptly notifying the Venue Manager.
  • Checklists: Maintaining and regularly reviewing the Light Years opening and closing checklists, ensuring they are constantly updated, displayed and checked off
  • Deep Cleaning: Participate in weekly deep cleaning of both the FOH and BOH areas as outlined by the Venue Manager
